Macca at Yankee Stadium

THIS is why I work in the music industry.

(Macca at the start of the show)

From early childhood, my parents instilled in me a love for all things The Beatles. This was hard and dangerous, considering that my early years were spent behind the Iron Curtain in the coastal town of Odessa.

(It's getting hot.. Macca on fire!)

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I could see a Beatle in the flesh, let alone get my parents tickets through "work".

(When Macca smiles, the whole world smiles with him!)

This Paul McCartney concert at Yankee Stadium in NYC, where my favorite baseball team, the legendary New York Yankees play during the summer of 2011 was easily one of the greatest musical orgasms of my life.

(The long and winding road....)

To have shared it with the people who gave me life, my younger brother and the man that I love made it SO much better. (Paul and his band)

And just when the night could not get any better, there was a tribute to my FAVORITE Beatle, George Harrison...
(While my guitar gently weeps........)

(All pictures are from Peggy Donald, the mother of my good friend Kelsey, who had practically front row seats!)

Night Out With Mr. Bumblefoot (aka Ron Thal)

While working a concert at the Gramercy Theatre in NYC on a beautiful March night, I ran into one of my favorite people on Twitter, @Bumblefoot. Ron Thal is presently playing with Axl Rose and Guns N' Roses. Here's to the hopes that they bring the show to the States :-)

The LAST Giraffes show... ever.. again...

Even though I already had a post titled "The Last Giraffes Show" I was pleased to learn that there was one more in the works In February of 2011. This news brought out the band's Brooklyn base in full force to the Mercury Lounge for what turned out to be an epic, emotional and beer-drenched night for all of those lucky enough to attend.

(Fuck you too Aaron)

As most Giraffes fans know (and for those who don't), Aaron Lazar, the band's incredible lead singer, has a serious heart condition that needs constant monitoring and regulating. Being the rock star that he is, Aaron has given rock n' roll the past decade of his life.

(What genius gave this man a just-banned FourLoko??)

After several heart attacks (all before the tender age of 30) he finally heeded to the advice of medical professionals and announced his retirement (**sad sigh**) from the stage at what was officially billed as the "The Last Giraffes Show".

(Goodbye...)
